SUMMARY

Western Stud is a 5 Card Stud Poker Game, where the Dealer has two separate hands. One plays High, (high poker hand ranks) and the other plays Low (lowball poker hand ranks, where A,2,3,4,5 is the best hand) using a standard 52 card deck. Each player looks at their first four cards and declares which Dealer hand to play against, (High, Low, or Both.) There are three bets. Two even money, and a single prop bet that gives players two paytables; one for the first 4 card hand rank and one for the final 5 card hand rank. (See paytables below)

HOW TO PLAY

You must place a Double Pay Ante and a Blind wager of equal amounts. You get your first 4 cards and declare which of the Dealer's 5 card hands to play against; the High Poker hand, the Lowball Poker hand or Both hands, by placing a PLAY wager in the area marked High, Low or Both. You can also fold and forfeit your Double Pay Ante and your Blind wager. The 5th and final card is dealt to each hand. (Dealer must play the highest Poker hand High)

ALL WAGERS ARE RESOLVED AFTER THE 5th AND FINAL CARD IS DEALT AS FOLLOWS:

If you played High and your 5 card hand is higher than the Dealer's High hand, you win and get paid even money on your Blind wager and your PLAY wager. Otherwise, you lose and your Blind and PLAY wagers are collected.

If you played Low and your 5 card hand is lower than the Dealer's Low hand, you win and get paid even money on your Blind wager and your PLAY wager. Otherwise, you lose and your Blind and PLAY wagers are collected.

If you played Both and your 5 card hand is higher than the Dealer's High hand and lower than the Dealer's Low hand, you win and get paid 3:1 on your PLAY wager and even money on your Blind wager. Otherwise, you lose and your Blind and PLAY wagers are collected.

The Double Pay Ante is paid regardless of the outcome of your Blind and PLAY wagers, and is based upon the rank of your first 4 cards AND the rank of your final 5 card hand according to the following paytables:
